At age seven Lydia wanted to act in a movie. But after looking through the video cabinet, she figured all the good movies had already been made so, taking matters into her hands, Lydia wrote a story based on a character she would love to act. This turned into a discovery; she could write books! Since then Lydia has been writing, publishing her first book before graduating high school. 

A big problem Lydia faced as an avid reader was finding exciting stories without gore, cussing, and sensual material. This started her on a journey of writing books that Christian teens could read without worrying about their faith being undermined.

After being approached by teenage girls who were facing the same challenges in their first books, Lydia started taking her experience and knowledge about story-telling to a new level by teaching others. Her writing community is based on what she found personally helpful in writing each of her books.
